WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Dow Jones Industrial Average had risen 1.9 percent as of 1 p.m. EST Monday, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index was up 2 percent, to 2,126. The Nasdaq Composite Index also improved, rising 2.3 percent to 116.
The market rebound follows a weekend announcement by the Federal Bureau of Investigation affirming its July decision not to recommend criminal charges against Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in a probe of her email practices as US secretary of state.
Clinton is leading Republican candidate Donald Trump by 6 percent nationwide, according to a Monmouth University poll released Monday.
