WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US Supreme Court will not reinstate a restraining order against the Trump campaign in Ohio aimed at preventing voter intimidation during Tuesday's election, a court order said on Monday.
"The application to vacate stay presented to Justice [Elena] Kagan and by her referred to the Court is denied," the order stated.
The Democratic Party in the state of Ohio had asked the court to reinstate the order after an appeals court overturned it on Sunday.
The Democrats originally filed for the restraining order out of fear Trump supporters could intimidate minority voters at polling places on Election Day.
By contrast, Trump has repeatedly claimed that the US election is rigged.
