MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Zakharova recalled that according to available information, there are two "self-government bodies" in Aleppo, one of them based in Turkey's Gaziantep, dubbed "provincial council" and the other, the so-called "municipal council" based in the locality of Atarib about 20 kilometers southwest of Aleppo.
Another force that is trying to show itself in Aleppo is the so-called "provisional government" closely linked to the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, she said.
"All these self-proclaimed 'authorities' are far from representing the residents of Aleppo's eastern quarters, who have actually become hostages to militants. It is even worse that, while fulfilling the order of their sponsors, these people, hypocritically speaking as if on behalf of civilians, are playing into the hands of terrorists in all possible ways," Zakharova said.
