"I want to go on record as totally opposing the role of the FBI in this election," Kucinich stated. "There are people in the FBI who are trying to change the outcome of the election, and it’s not their role."
Kucinich noted that Americans have a right to make their choice, and the FBI has intervened in the election by putting out rumors that cannot be proven or disproven before individuals are able to vote.
"So it’s added a new element to the campaign which actually has the potential to change the outcome of the election," he noted.
Kucinich went on to say that under the US constitution, people who are accused of crime should be afforded due process with an opportunity for the accused to defend themselves.
"Notwithstanding the fact that Hillary Clinton’s conduct prior to this election made the reason for skepticism on the part of some people, she has the same rights as anyone else," he added.
Kucinich characterized the FBI for being engaged in conduct that is reprehensible.
"They are trying to influence the outcome of the election," Kucinich concluded.
On Sunday, FBI Director James Comey said in a letter to the US Congress that the agency has not changed its July decision not to recommend criminal charges against Clinton.
Clinton was investigated whether she intended to break US law by using a private server and email account for official business during her tenure as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.
In July, Comey did not recommend criminal charges despite the fact the FBI found Clinton communicated classified materials via the private server.
On October 28, Comey announced the reopening of the previously closed Clinton investigation when the FBI discovered a new batch of 650,000 emails on the laptop computer of the estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin. However, Comey said on Sunday that he stands by his July decision not to recommend criminal charges against Clinton.
