MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia harvested a record amount of grain and leguminous crops, 117 million metric tons, in 2016, which became the biggest achievement in the past 38 years, Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev said Tuesday during a round table in the Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency.
"Russia has harvested 117 million tons of grain, this is the best result in the past 38 years. Russia harvested more only in 1978 — 127 million tons," Tkachev said.
