MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia does not attempt to drag out the conflict in eastern Ukraine and is interested in resolving it more than other countries, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Tuesday.
"Russia is interested in resolving the conflict on its borders more than anyone else, despite the fact that you periodically hear statements alleging that we want to artificially drag out the conflict, keeping it in a permanent frozen state," Lavrov said.
The Russian diplomat called for "vigorous efforts to restore trust in Europe seriously undermined as a result of the internal Ukrainian crisis."
"We all agree that the speedy and full implementation of the Minsk agreements remains on the agenda," Lavrov said at the Potsdam Meetings international conference organized by the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund and the German-Russian Forum.
