Moscow is expecting Chinese leader Xi Jinping to visit Russia in 2017, President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — During a meeting in the Kremlin on Tuesday with Chinese State Council Premier Li Keqiang, Putin asked him to "convey the best wishes to the Chinese president and remind him that we are expecting him to pay a traditional official visit to Moscow in 2017."

Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said October 13 that during a meeting with Xi in Goa a few days later, Putin would officially invite the Chinese leader to visit Russia in 2017.
