MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım congratulated Republican candidate Donald Trump on his apparent victory in the US presidential election.
"We congratulate Trump on his victory in the elections. The new president is facing a possibility to open a new page in the relations between our countries, should the United States extradite the terrorist leader [Islamic cleric Fethullah Gulen, suspected by Ankara of masterminding the July coup attempt]," Yıldırım told the NTV channel.
