US Senator Rand Paul said the US Congress will work with Donald Trump to repeal thousands of job-killing regulations.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US Congress will work with President-elect Donald Trump to repeal thousands of job-killing regulations that were enacted during the Obama administration, US Senator Rand Paul said in a tweet on Wednesday.

​Republicans are especially angry with the US Environmental Protection Agency’s use of its authority to regulate pollution by renaming carbon dioxide as a pollutant. Carbon dioxide occurs naturally in the atmosphere and had never before been regulated as a pollutant.

Another often ridiculed rule adds tens of thousands of dollars to the cost of building a single family home with a one-size-fits-all regulation for storm water runoff, even for a house located miles away from the nearest stream.

 

The latter comment was directed at celebrities such as Cher, Barbra Streisand and Miley Cyrus, who earlier announced they would exit the United States if Trump was elected.

Paul is a leading libertarian lawmaker in the US Senate, best known for his advocacy of limited constitutional government.
