MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Trump triumphed over his Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton in the November 8 presidential election. He gained 289 electoral votes, which is more than 270 needed to win.
"We are the ones capable of changing the US policy, if we keep the strong alliance between Russia, Iran and the axis of resistance, then the new US president will not be able to make any miscalculated risks in the region, so it all depends on us, our strength is not in what the US does but in what we do, we determine how it deals with our issues and not the person sitting in the White House," Muftah said.
Muftah added that in his winning speech Trump said that he wanted to deal with other nations based on mutual interests which was a positive thing, however he stressed the importance of the American dream, which might entail the desire to expand and control the lands of others through the use of power.
Muftah acknowledged that it was still too early to predict Trump's foreign policies at the moment.
