WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The NRA noted that Trump has won, despite unprecedented efforts by the gun control lobby.
"Voters sent a loud and clear message that our gun rights are not for sale," NRA's Institute for Legislative Action Executive Director Chris Cox stated in the Wednesday release. "Despite the unprecedented efforts by New York City billionaire Michael Bloomberg and the gun control lobby, the Second Amendment prevailed."
NRA members and Second Amendment supporters rallied to elect a pro-gun president, the release added.
"Trump’s victory repudiates the assertion by gun control advocates that the political calculus regarding the Second Amendment has changed," the release stated.
The NRA has spent millions of dollars on pro-Trump TV advertisements throughout 2016 presidential campaign.
