ANKARA (Sputnik) — Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said Wednesday he hopes the presidency of Donald Trump, who won the US presidential elections, will be positive for the Middle East situation.
"A new period has started in America. I would like this choice of the American people to bring them a future full of success, and to be favorable from the position of the fundamental rights and freedoms, democracy, development of events in our region," Erdogan told businessmen in Istanbul.
