MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The number of settlements that have joined the cessation of hostilities in war-torn Syria has increased to 924, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
According to the document, negotiations on joining ceasefire regime have continued with field commanders of armed opposition units operating in Damascus, Homs, Hama, Quneitra, and Aleppo provinces.
Meanwhile, the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation at the Hmeimim airbase registered a total of 47 violations in the last 24 hours.
"A total of 47 ceasefire violations by illegal militant groups have been registered in Damascus (21), Aleppo (22), Latakia (1), Hama (1) and Quneitra (2) provinces," the ministry added.
The Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham, formerly known as Nusra Front, and the Islamic State terrorist groups, which have been outlawed in Russia, are not part of the ceasefire deal.
