Obama 'Encouraged' by Meeting With President-Elect Trump
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Trump said that his change in stance on the legislation, which he had vowed to repeal numerous times during his election campaign, came after his meeting with incumbent US President Barack Obama earlier this week. Trump told the media outlet that Obama had offered some suggestions on the issue.

"I told him I will look at his suggestions, and out of respect, I will do that … Either Obamacare will be amended, or repealed and replaced," Trump told the news outlet in an interview released Friday.

The Affordable Care Act, enacted in 2010, is often called Obamacare, particularly by the political foes of the president who complain that the law has not reduced the cost of medical treatment in the United States.

Under the Affordable Care Act, the US federal government facilitates state-by-state marketplaces where uninsured citizens can buy health care coverage from private companies.
