PARIS (Sputnik) — The parliamentarian noted that the terrorists could use social networks for direct communication and propaganda distribution.
"It is impossible to say that the level of terrorist threat has went down. Daesh supporters in Iraq and Syria keep in touch with those who are in France," Popelin said.
The politician also approved of France's actions within the US-led coalition against Daesh.
"The participation of France in the international coalition was necessary and timely to weaken the group. France fulfilled its obligation without crossing any lines and stayed within the parameters of the mission," Popelin stressed.
On the evening of November 13, 2015, a group of terrorists carried out a series of attacks in different spots in Paris, claiming 130 lives, with more than 350 wounded. Following last year's attacks in Paris, France declared the state of emergency, which was further extended for six months in July after a deadly truck attack in the seaside resort of Nice.
