Abe's Trump Card?
16:18 GMT 14.11.2016 (Updated: 11:23 GMT 06.08.2022) Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and US President-elect Donald Trump are scheduled to meet on November 17 in New York City.
Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan Yoshihide Suga said Monday that the meeting will not have an impact on Tokyo's striving to create a free-trade zone under the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.
While President-elect Trump opposes the deal, the administration of the outgoing US President Barack Obama has reportedly suspended its efforts to reach a deal with the Congress to ratify the TPP.
