According to the report, a middle-aged woman came to a local clothing store and chose a black coat, a black shirt and a pair of black pants on Wednesday last week. Then she went to the fitting room where she put on the new threads and left her old clothes.
At the end of the day a shop assistant realized the three items worth 1,000 yuan ($147) were missing and called the police.
The next morning while the police was checking the surveillance footage the same woman appeared again in the store and tried to steal a red coat using the same method. She was immediately identified as the suspect from the previous theft and was met by several policemen waiting outside when she tried to leave the store.
The woman admitted she had stolen the outfits but said that this time she was going to exchange the coat, not to steal another outfit. She planned to return the black coat, when she had taken the red one, the thief told the police.
She also said she wanted a new coat to wear to her nephew’s wedding this week, but her husband refused to give her the money, so she decided to steal the outfits.
