BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — According to the EU Foreign Affairs Council's agenda, the participants of the meeting are expected to discuss the latest developments in Turkey, including the issues of a parliamentary bill to reinstate the death penalty, freedom of the press, and the arrests of opposition politicians.
The council will also discuss relations with the six Eastern Partnership states, namely Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, with a possible focus on the situation in Ukraine, elections in Georgia, Moldova and Belarus, and new agreements with Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The foreign ministers will also discuss Syria and possibly Iraq and Libya, as well as security and defense plans under the EU global strategy.
The meeting will be chaired by EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini and will also run on November 15, where EU-NATO cooperation and EU common security policy will be discussed, among other topics.
