Japan to Continue to Stick to Non-Nuclear Principles - Prime Minister

The Japanese authorities will keep following its non-nuclear principles, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Monday.

TOKYO (Sputnik) — During his election campaign, US President-elect Donald Trump suggested that Japan and South Korea should develop nuclear weapons for their security.

"Three non-nuclear principles are a governmental policy and we will continue to abide by them," Abe was quoted as saying by Kyodo News.

The three non-nuclear principles presuppose that Japan will not possess nuclear weapons, or produce them, or import.
