NEW YORK (Sputnik) — The New York Police Department (NYPD) has put in place an elevated watch booth atop a law enforcement van outside Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
Hundreds of NYPD officers are patrolling the area in addition to the protection the US Secret Service provides to teh president-elect, to ensure the highest level of public safety.
Protests by Democrats and others who oppose Trump’s presidency have been taking place outside Trump Tower and throughout the United States since Trump was elected to be the 45th president of the United States on November 8. Detractors suspect that some of the demonstrators are paid agitators such as those recruited to protest and potentially cause violence outside Trump campaign rallies.
