BAGHDAD (Sputnik) — The Daesh terrorist group, outlawed in Russia and multiple other states, overran the northern Syrian city of Mosul in 2014. Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi announced a campaign on October 17 to reclaim the key Daesh stronghold.
"The Federal Police killed three IS [Daesh] terrorists and destroyed a vehicle trapped with explosives, an ammunition depot, a tunnel and a rocket launcher… in a military operation on the outskirts south of Mosul," the source said.
