MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) – The programme, comprised of 11 priority measures, is launched in the light of the recent statements made by the newly elected US President Donald Trump, who promised to deport up to three million undocumented migrants with criminal record from the United States earlier in the week.
Besides, Mexico extends the working hours of the relevant consular services in the Mexican Embassy to Washington and in all 50 Mexican consulates located in the United States and intensifies the work, aimed at providing Mexican citizens with all the documents, needed to legitimize their stay in the United States.
During his election campaign, Trump repeatedly promised to send migrants out, even if they had nowhere to return to.
Trump won the US presidential elections, securing more than 270 electoral votes needed for his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton’s defeat. The inauguration will take place on January 20.
