MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) — Russia and Mexico could start joint work on the development of a light helicopter, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Andrei Boginsky said Wednesday.
"The time has come to launch a joint project with Mexico, if possible, in the field of a light helicopter. They are ready. We already have joint projects with India and China. Why not? There are opportunities, we should try to use them," Boginsky told RIA Novosti on the sidelines of a business forum in Mexico.
According to Boginsky, 85 percent of aerospace companies in Mexico are connected to the US capital, about 5-7 percent with European, while the rest of the enterprises are purely Mexican.
He added that Russia had something to propose to Mexico, for instance, multi-purpose light helicopter Ansat, which has US engines.
The Mexico Business Summit, attended by Boginsky, was held on November 13-15 in Puebla.
