Julian Assange Embassy Siege in Numbers
15:03 GMT 17.11.2016 (Updated: 11:23 GMT 06.08.2022) More than six years after being accused of rape, Julian Assange was finally met by Swedish prosecutors on November 15-16 in the Ecuadorean Embassy in London. In the interim he has not been charged with any crime.
Julian Assange sought political asylum in 2012, saying he feared that Sweden would extradite him to the US.
Lawyers for Mr. Assange say he fears that US prosecutors would persecute him for embarrassing leaks of US intelligence, published by Assange's whistleblowing site, WikiLeaks.
