"The meeting, chaired by the [UN] Deputy Special Envoy [for Syria Ramzy Ezzeldin Ramzy], took note of the humanitarian impact of the intensified violence in various parts of northern Syria over the past week, such as in Aleppo, Raqqa and Idleb governorates, among others. It was regretted that no UN inter-agency cross-line convoys were able to proceed so far in November," de Mistura's office said in a statement after the meeting of the UN-backed Humanitarian Task Force (HTF).
The HTF members also confirmed their commitment to assist the United Nations and partner organizations to get the safe and sustainable access to the areas, populated with Syrians in need.
Earlier in the day, the members of the HTF convened to discuss the progress in reaching besieged and hard-to-reach Syrian areas with regard to the UN aid delivery plans for November.
The Humanitarian Task Force, established by the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) in February, is aimed at ensuring unobstructed humanitarian access to all Syrian areas to provide people with humanitarian assistance.
