WARSAW (Sputnik) — Poland’s main opposition party, Civic Platform, has disclosed the makeup of its UK-style shadow cabinet, after a national council meeting in Warsaw on Thursday.
Party leader and former foreign minister Grzegorz Schetyna will take up the role of the shadow prime minister. Ex-prime minister Ewa Kopacz and former defense chief Tomasz Siemonia will be his deputies.
Speaking on the decision, Schetyna said his shadow cabinet would review mistakes made by the ruling party and seek to improve every branch of the government through legislative proposals.
Conservative Civic Platform governed Poland for eight years before it was defeated by the right-wing Law and Justice Party in the November 2015 general election.
