MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The detention on bribery charges of former Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev cannot be associated with changes in economic policy because strategic affairs are President Vladimir Putin's area of expertise, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.
"It is unlikely that Mr. Ulyukayev's detention could somehow be associated with changes in economic policy. Moreover, the issues of the country's strategic development in one way or another are in the competence of the head of state," Peskov told reporters.
