"At the end of the campaign, Trump said he was going to be a champion of the American working class," Sanders stated on Wednesday. "We have a list of everything that you [Trump] said, and we are going to hold you to account."
Sanders pointed out that Trump pledged to expand social security, improve health coverage Medicare and raise the minimum wage in the United States.
During the first year of Trump's presidency, Sanders continued, Americans will find out whether his campaign messages were honest.
Sanders argued that if Trump does not implement what he promised, Americans should give an immediate response.
"We will not only oppose his policies, we will expose those hypocrisies," Sanders warned.
Sanders unsuccessfully sought the Democratic Party’s 2016 presidential nomination as rival Hillary Clinton won it, but numerous critics have stated she won the primary election under questionable circumstances.
