"Designed using the latest technology in hardware architecture and advanced signal processing algorithms, the sonar is capable of detecting, localizing, classifying and tracking sub-surface and surface targets in both its active and passive modes of operation," read a statement released by Defense Research and Development Organization.
Indian Navy plans to induct the sonar on three variants of the Russian Pauk class corvettes.
Last year, India had exported three sets of sonar systems to Myanmar and is also in touch with Vietnam and Philippines.
