MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Late on Saturday, a train derailed near the northern Indian city of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, as 14 cars overturned, killing at least 100 people and injuring over 200. Following the crash, Modi said he was "anguished beyond words" on learning about the mass loss of lives.
"The Russian head of state gave words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured," the Kremlin said in a statement.
