NEW DELHI (Sputnik) — According to the press office, the Pakistani soldiers returned Indian fire, killing six Indian soldiers.
"Four citizens were killed today at the Line of Control, 10 were injured," the armed forces' press office said in a statement.
New Delhi has not offered any comment on the incident yet.
India and Pakistan have been contesting the Jammu and Kashmir region since gaining independence from the United Kingdom in 1947. The conflict has already provoked two wars between the countries. The Line of Control, where the deadly incident took place, separates the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir from the territory under the jurisdiction of Pakistani forces.
