MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The CBS Chattanooga affiliate WDEF reported on Monday citing Police Chief Fred Fletcher that the bus carrying 35 students from kindergarten through grade six crashed in Chattanooga. The broadcaster added citing own sources that 12 people were killed in the accident.
A total of 23 students had been sent to hospital for treatment after the crash, the broadcaster added citing the Chattanooga Fire Department’s Public Information director.
Later in the day, the NBC News broadcaster reported citing a spokeswoman of the Hamilton county district attorney that there were six victims in the accident.
The investigation into the deadly accident that took place at 3 p.m. local time (20:00 GMT) was ongoing, according to the broadcaster.
