Estonia's Foreign Minister Jurgen Ligi has chaired the committee since May, when Estonia took over from Bulgaria.
The outgoing chair is set to hand the post over to his successor Cypriot Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides. Tuesday's meeting, which will also be attended by Cypriot Education Minister Costas Kadis, will take place in Strasbourg at the organization's headquarters.
Cyprus' chairmanship will preside over the 2017 Committee of Ministers session in Nicosia. The last meeting attended by the foreign ministers took place in Sofia in May. The ministers took decisions on tackling extremism, radicalization and terrorism, as well as resolving Europe's refugee crisis and upholding human rights. The ministers also heard Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland'sreport on the state of democracy and rule of law in Europe in the light of security concerns.
