WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Canada’s Tactical Aviation Detachment transports ammunition, medical supplies and key personnel around the battlefield, Commander Carol Potvin explained.
"430 Tactical Helicopter Squadron has already made a positive impact on Coalition operations in Northern Iraq, having flown over 200 hours in just 22 days since assuming their duties in Erbil," the release stated.
The squadron, based in Valcartier, Quebec, replaced the 427 Special Operations Aviation Squadron in October and is providing transport support to Canadian and other anti-Daesh coalition members.
Approximately 830 Canadian military members are deployed as part of Operation Impact, Canada's contribution to the US-led coalition.
