Robots on Patrol: Russian Borders to be Guarded by Artificial Intelligence
The footage shows use of the stationary robotic system, which pulls out of the concrete shaft at the command of the Strategic Missile Forces duty officer. The new guard robot is equipped with modern firing and grenade launching systems allowing it to conduct aimed fire in a circular firing sector at a distance of up to 400 meters.

As part of the combat tests, the latest robotic system proved its reliability as the saboteurs could not pass unnoticed toward the protected objects.

Due to the wide range of its optoelectronic devices, the combat duty of the new robot will include guarding ballistic missile regiments, according to an official report of the military department.

The mobile missile systems will be protected by a mobile robot complex. Armed with a heavy machine gun system it is designed for reconnaissance, detection and elimination of stationary and moving targets, fire support units, patrols and protection of important sites.

“The complex has the ability to direct weapons, accompany and hit targets in automatic and semi-automatic modes as it is equipped with electro-optical and radar reconnaissance,” the statement by the Ministry of Defense read.

Russia's Strategic Missile Forces (SMF) have also tested the new guard robot for launch silos, which are capable of conducting aimed fire at distances of up to 400 meters, the Russian Defense Ministry reported earlier last week.

The complex is further armed with the “Forpost” radar, heat imager, and color and black-and-white high contrast videos.

All these technological add-ons will allow the guard robot to work around the clock as it can detect a person at a distance of about seven kilometers and a car at up to ten kilometers. It can also pinpoint low-flying unmanned aerial vehicles at a distance of several kilometers.

The technical capabilities of the new complex allow it to monitor at any time, even in adverse weather conditions.
