WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Bryan Lanza, a spokesman for the Trump-Pence Transition said that Trump has continued to denounce racism of any kind and he got elected because he will be a leader for every American.
Lanza added that to think otherwise misrepresents the movement that united Americans from all backgrounds.
Trump was accused throughout his election campaign of abusive comments towards some racial minorities. He has also been criticized for appointing as his chief strategist Breitbart’s Steven Bannon, who many accuse of being a white nationalist.
However, in every major speech he courted the Hispanic and African-American communities in the United States and won a larger percentage of the Hispanic vote than the two previous Republican presidential candidates John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012.
