WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The commerce secretary underscored the need for the general public and private sector to cooperate on promoting the Internet as a platform for economic opportunity and commerce, according to the release.
"I challenge this group to identify opportunities for US-China collaboration to build a modern economy that is open, innovative, and global," Pritzker stated.
During the 2016 presidential race, US President-elect Donald Trump accused China of currency manipulation and proposed to raise the issue of China's commitment to World Trade Organization rules.
Trump also vowed to impose a 45-percent tariff on imports from China, blaming the cheap imports for the loss of jobs in the United States.
