WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Carrier Strike Group Five included the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruisers Chancellorsville and Shiloh; Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers Barry, Wilbur and McCampbell; Carrier Air Wing Five; and Destroyer Squadron Fifteen, the Pacific Command noted.
"Carrier Strike Group Five (CSG 5) and its flagship USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) returned to Yokosuka, Japan, Nov. 21 following a three month patrol of the Indo-Asia-Pacific region," the release stated on Monday.
While on patrol, the group visited two countries and participated in three major exercises, including Invincible Spirit 2016 with the South Korean Navy in October.
Last week, the strike group participated in the Keen Sword exercise with Japan.
Carrier Strike Group Five is forward-deployed in the US Pacific Command area of concern in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
