"Tomorrow, a total of 912 flights, including 82 intercontinental flights, will be canceled due to the extended strike, affecting another 115,000 passengers," a press release published on the company's website said.
The strike was announced by the Vereinigung Cockpit pilots union, demanding wage increase for the employees.

The 5,400 pilots employed by Lufthansa, Lufthansa cargo and its low-cost subsidiary Germanwings have not had a wage increase since 2012 and they are calling for a 20-percent raise that compensates for the past four years. Lufthansa said it could increase the salaries by 2.5 percent within next six years.
Earlier on Wednesday, Lufthansa canceled 876 flights, including 51 long-haul flights.
