MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to The New York Times, Trump stressed that he had a good meeting at the White House with President Obama on November 10.
"I think he’s looking to do absolutely the right thing for the country in terms of transition," Trump was quoted as saying by The New York Times correspondent Maggie Haberman on her Twitter account.
The president-elect said they discussed a series of global issues, including "one particularly challenging" which Trump refused to disclose.
"I didn't know if I’d like him. I probably thought that maybe I wouldn’t, but I did. I really enjoyed him a lot," Trump was quoted as saying by The New York Times reporter Mike Grynbaum on his Twitter account.
Trump met with journalists from the newsroom and opinion section staff at The New York Times. The interview touched upon Trump’s relations with Obama and his former rival Democratic Party presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Syrian crisis, Israeli-Palestinian peace process and various domestic issues, like freedom of speech.
On November 8, the Republican candidate Donald Trump emerged as a surprise winner of the US presidential election with 290 electoral votes.
