WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Pritzker explained that US businesses have seen strong results in China but their growth is hampered by Beijing’s economic policies.
"Our companies and your companies need to see China further reform, rebalance and open your economy — including by addressing intellectual property protections, decreasing excess capacity and advancing policies that promote an open, vibrant digital economy," Pritzker stated.
On Tuesday, Pritzker said the two nations should look for opportunities to increase collaboration on building a modern digital economy.
The US-China Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade was established in 1983 as a bilateral forum for the United States and China to promote bilateral economic relations and expand trade cooperation.
