According to AFP, a men armed with a knife and a shotgun bursted into a retirement home for monks on Thursday night. The attacker reportedly tied a security guard before enetring the house.
Le Figaro reported that the attacker stubbed a female guard to death. The Daily Mail said that two persons had been killed.
The motives of the attacker remain unknown, according to local police.
Local official said that as many as 60 residents of the house had been brought to safety, adding that the suspect is still at large.
Media report that some 70 retired monks who worked in various missions in Africa live in the home.
