"[Luxembourg's] Prime Minister Xavier Bettel had visited Sochi. He met [Russian President] Vladimir Putin, [Russian Prime Minister] Dmitry Medvedev. He referred to the last meeting in Ulaanbaatar that the Russian side always was and always will be a reliable partner of Luxembourg and he intends to develop relations in all areas," Golodets said.
During the her visit to Luxembourg, Golodets discussed practical aspects of bilateral cooperation including humanitarian and cultural areas.
The two countries intend to boost cooperation in healthcare, which will be discussed later during a visit to the Kirchberg Hospital, a leading European medical research center, according to Golodets.
"We will look into cooperating with our colleagues, as every country has its strengths, we are ready to share our strengths and work with representatives of Luxembourg's healthcare system," she said.
In late 2015, Luxembourg's prime minister held a working meeting with Putin in the southern Russian city of Sochi. The two leaders agreed on the importance of fighting terrorism in Syria, while Bettel stressed that EU anti-Russia sanctions can be lifted after the situation with the Ukrainian conflict improves.
