Domino’s Pizza Japan recent press release says the company is working on a special “snow delivery” project. This winter is expected to be especially cold, and so Hokkaido's pizza-loving residents may get a surprise when they open the front door to collect their pizzas.

The company says it will do everything possible to ensure the wellbeing of the animals, as well as safety of people and animals who can encounter the reindeer.
A video posted by Domino’s Pizza Japan on YouTube shows the process of deer’s training.
The reindeer delivery is planned to get going in December, however the project still has some elements yet to put in place. It has been tough to train the deer to run for long distances without human control and not to wander into roads. Strapping the pizza-warmers onto the animals back is also a problem at the moment.
Reindeer pizza delivery is just irresistibly charming on a white Christmas, however it is not the first surprising service launched by Domino’s. It already delivers pizza by canoe in England and by drones in New Zealand.
