MOSCOW (Sputnik) – A group of five men, arrested on suspicion of planning attacks in France, were remotely directed by the Daesh terrorists from Syria and Iraq, Paris Prosecutor Francois Molins said Friday.
“They saw each other regularly, communicating in a closed network via a dedicated phone line,” Molins told a press conference as quoted by the France Info television channel.
He added that the suspects were “guided from the Iraqi-Syrian region via encrypted apps.”
On November 20, French police arrested four individuals during the anti-terrorist operation in Strasbourg. Another suspect was arrested in French southern city of Marseille.
