MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to Tasnim news agency, the hackers left a deface page with a brief message, an image of the Islamic State (IS, outlawed in Russia) terrorist group flag along with the pictures of several Afghan officials, whom they accused of supporting terrorists and killing civilians.
"We want justice and equality for all ethnic groups of Afghanistan. Security is either only deception or illusion… we will never give up (our fight) until justice is served," the media outlet cited the message.
The uploaded photos included NSC Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar, head of the Afghan intelligence agency Massoum Stanekzai, commander of Kabul police headquarters Abdul Rahman Rahimi and head of Kabul Garrison Gul Nabi Ahmadzai.
Similar hacker attacks repeatedly happened in the past, though it was the first time when photos of Afghan officials were uploaded.
