"The pilots union Cockpit (VC) has called for a strike for Lufthansa flights from Germany. This affects continental routes from Germany on 25 November and intercontinental routes on 26 November 2016… Lufthansa regrets and apologizes for the inconvenience these flight cancellations are causing its passengers. Over 315,000 passengers have been affected by 2,618 flight cancellations over the first three days of the strike," the statement said.
According to the statement, a special flight schedule for November 25-26 is available, and the airline will operate a few long-haul flights in spite of the strike.
The airline called on its passengers to take precautionary measures and to check if their flight is affected, either on the airline's website or mobile application.
