MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Federal Guard Service (FSO) General Gennady Lopyrev, who was earlier detained following an internal check, has been officially charged, Lopyrev's lawyer Ruslan Zakalyuzhny said Friday.
"My client has been officially charged, he does not admit his guilt," Zakalyuzhny said providing no further details on the charges.
The FSO reported earlier Friday that Lopyrev had been detained following an internal inspection in FSO units in the Caucasus that revealed signs of serious violations of the law.
