MOSCOW (Sputnik) — There is a need to develop relations between Tehran and Ankara to solve the problems in the Middle East, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday.

"Nowadays, when the situation in the region seems shaky, the development cooperation, like-mindedness, as well as contacts between Tehran and Ankara can be very useful for solving problems in the region," Rouhani said after a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Tehran, as quoted by the IRNA news agency.
