MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Saturday, Trump called Castro "a dictator" and promised to help the well-being of Cuba.
"As for the various manifestations and desires to backbite and speak in a disrespectful manner in respect to a deceased person, a politician, I leave it to the conscience of those who do so," Schetinin told RIA Novosti.
According to Schetinin, Castro was a "great politician of our time… And he is absolutely worthy of everyone's respect."
The death of the Cuban revolutionary and former president was announced by incumbent Cuban President Raul Castro on Friday. A funeral ceremony has been scheduled for December 4, and will be held at a cemetery in Santiago de Cuba. Cuba has received a flood of condolences from leaders around the world, including from Russian leader Vladimir Putin and outgoing US President Barack Obama.
